The way I started this painting was to scribble across the canvas. I did not have an image in mind.
The second step was to color in the individual shapes with different color. At this stage the painting was too flat. So I glazed the painting with black in certain areas to give the illusion that some of the planes of colors were disappearing behind others. The result is something totally different than I thought it would be. I like the idea of learning with an image. Letting the image evolve in accordance with its own needs.
